The third Friday of the month has volunteers gathering in the kitchen of St. Peter's to offer a Free Community Supper open to the public. A hearty meal complete with dessert is served from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Sewers come together throughout the year to make quilts for various organizations. Camp Courage, a Hospice program for children has been the recipient of quilts created by this group. Project Linus, a national organization that provides quilts for children who are hospitalized, has also received some of our quilted blankets, as well as our local Domestic Harmony organization. Blankets, hat and scarves are also distributed to patients at St. Peter's Free Health Clinic.
One of St. Peter's outreach activities around Christmas time has been to help those in need. In 2012 donations of needed items were collected for Domestic Harmony, the local Domestic Violence Shelter. 2013 once again had parishioners bringing in needed items for the Greater Hillsdale County Humane Society.
Spring and Fall are the times for our annual rummage sales! The October Fall sale was a success. Plans are already being made for the 2014 Spring Sale with the dates yet to be set.
